Current projects | Recruited as a teacher-researcher at the University of Rennes I on September 1, 2017, I carry out my teaching activity at the UFR of Pharmacy in the field of microbiology and my research activity within the UMR INSERM/ UR1 1241, from the NUMECAN Institute. This research activity is part of the theme of the METHER team, which studies the links between iron metabolism, human health, and the development of pathologies. My objective, which fits into this framework, is to clarify the links that exist between pathologies of iron metabolism, including iron overload, and modulations of the intestinal microbiota. At the same time, I am setting up a “eubiotic” or commensal bacterial community by bringing together several so-called non-pathogenic bacterial species in order to eventually be able to place them in contact with a complex intestinal cell model developed in the laboratory (Latifa Bousarghin). The choice of bacteria was made based on the analysis of our microbiota and the literature. This model of intestinal epithelium supplemented with intestinal commensal bacteria will closely mimic the intestinal barrier. This model will allow us to study the impact of bacteria identified during the study of microbiota. |
